01Guwahati to Shillong | Overnight stay in Shillong
  • Pickup from Guwahati airport or railway station and drive towards Shillong.
  • Umiam Lake on the way, with time at the viewpoint.
  • Check in at the hotel and rest.
  • Evening free for Police Bazaar.
  • Overnight stay in Shillong.
02Shillong to Cherrapunji | Overnight stay in Cherrapunji
  • After breakfast, drive towards Cherrapunji.
  • Mawkdok Dympep Valley viewpoint and Wei Sawdong Falls.
  • Nohkalikai Falls, and the Seven Sisters Falls subject to visibility on the day.
  • Mawsmai Cave, then time to explore Sohra.
  • Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
03Double Decker Living Root Bridge trek | Overnight stay in Cherrapunji
  • An early breakfast, then drive to Tyrna village where the trek begins.
  • Down through the Khasi hills and across the steel suspension bridges to Nongriat.
  • The Double Decker Living Root Bridge and the natural pools below it.
  • Rainbow Falls can be added, depending on weather, time and how the group is doing.
  • Trek back up to Tyrna and return to Cherrapunji.
  • The trek is roughly 3,000 to 3,500 steps each way, which is why the day starts early.
  • Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
04Cherrapunji to Mawlynnong and Dawki | Overnight stay in Shnongpdeng
  • After breakfast, check out and drive towards Dawki.
  • Mawlynnong village, the Riwai Living Root Bridge, Balancing Rock and the bamboo sky walk.
  • On to Dawki for the Bangladesh border viewpoint and the Umngot river.
  • Continue to Shnongpdeng and settle in by the river.
  • Boating, kayaking and other activities are optional, and depend on the water on the day.
  • Overnight stay in Shnongpdeng or Dawki.
05Shnongpdeng to Krang Suri and Phe Phe Falls to Shillong | Overnight stay in Shillong
  • After breakfast, check out and drive into the Jaintia hills.
  • Krang Suri Falls, the viewpoint and the natural pool if conditions are safe.
  • On to Phe Phe Falls and the valley around it.
  • Continue to Shillong and check in.
  • Evening free for Police Bazaar.
  • Overnight stay in Shillong.
06Shillong to Kamakhya Temple to Guwahati | Tour ends
  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel.
  • Drive to Guwahati and stop at Kamakhya Temple for darshan.
  • Drop at Guwahati airport or railway station.
  • The tour ends here.

  • A 40-60L rucksack plus a small daypack for the trek day
  • Trekking shoes with proper grip — the Nongriat steps stay wet most of the year
  • A rain jacket or poncho, whatever the season
  • Quick-dry clothes and a change of clothes for the river days
  • Sunscreen, cap, personal water bottle and any personal medication
  • Power bank and a torch
  • Original government photo ID

!Good to know

  • The Nongriat trek is physically demanding — about 3,000 to 3,500 steps down and the same back up.
  • Rainbow Falls is an optional extension and depends on weather, daylight and fitness.
  • Waterfall pools, boating and kayaking are allowed only when water conditions are safe.
  • Seven Sisters Falls depends on visibility and rainfall on the day.
